How is AI reshaping the product development operating model?
In Q1, we heard the PDLC is shifting. Phases are compressing, roles are blurring, and the collaboration between product, design, and engineering is being reshaped by AI capabilities and economic pressure alike.
Q2 goes deeper. Because the process isn’t changing in isolation, the org is changing too. How teams are structured, how work gets allocated, and how roles are defined. The PDLC shift is a symptom of a larger operating model transformation.
That transformation is pulling members in two directions: some are absorbing product management responsibilities on top of design; others are holding the line on a distinct design function. Q2 is where we examine what’s emerging, what’s working, and where design leadership sits in the structure that comes next.
