When Everything Shifts: Change Leadership for Design Executives

Design executives are being pulled in three directions simultaneously: accelerating AI adoption, absorbing relentless org restructuring, and holding together teams whose identities, roles, and relationships are being rewritten in real time. And they're expected to do all of this while raising the performance bar, not lowering it.

The human side of transformation has become the harder problem. Layoffs hollow out institutional knowledge. New talent profiles create friction with the existing culture. Collaboration models shift faster than trust can form. Somewhere in the middle of all of it, design leaders are supposed to keep people oriented; toward the work, toward each other, and toward a future that isn't fully visible yet.

This Pulse Conversation would surface how design executives are navigating these competing forces, not with tidy frameworks, but with honest accounts of what's working, what's breaking, and what the role actually demands right now. This will be an off-the-record session where speakers can speak freely and without attribution.
