James Lema

James Lema is a product design leader with more than 20 years of experience creating products that connect technology, business, and human needs. Over the course of his career, he has led teams responsible for products and experiences used by millions of people worldwide. His work spans enterprise software, AI, mixed reality, consumer products, and digital platforms, where he has led organizations to bring new products to market.

As Senior Director of Product Design at Bentley Systems, James leads the design organization for Bentley Infrastructure Cloud. He works across design, product, and engineering to shape the products and services used by infrastructure professionals around the world. His focus is on helping teams navigate complexity, make better decisions, and create products that deliver real value for users and their businesses.

Prior to Bentley, James held design leadership roles at PTC, Microsoft, LEGO, Hasbro, and Pearson, where he led teams responsible for products spanning industrial software, mixed reality, digital entertainment, and connected consumer experiences. He is passionate about helping organizations use design to solve complex problems, strengthen collaboration, and create better outcomes for users. James believes great products come from understanding user needs, building strong partnerships, and creating environments where teams can do their best work.
